Dream Catcher

This dream catcher was made for a lovely friend to catch all of her bad dreams.

Panda and Rock Plush

This was made in December 2009 for a friend who really likes pandas (or at least at that time). The green bamboo shoot is removable and is made out of felt while the panda is made out of black and white fleece. I had a lot of fun making this one even though the head didn't turn out that well :)

Eskimo Plush

The inspiration for this plush was a sweater with a faux fur collar and cuffs that my sister received as a gift.

Super Mario Mushroom Plush

Super mushroom. I think I must have made about 3 or 4 of these mushrooms during my senior year of high school (April or May 2008). They were definitely popular with the classmates and I was able to sew during my classes since APs were done ;)

Button Magnets

I needed magnets for my fridge and found this 10 pk for only $1.50 at Daiso. Definitely a bargain but since they're a little too plain for my liking, I decided to spice them up a bit with some buttons and ribbon. :)

This is the first and only scarf I've knitted. Too bad it took a little over 2 years to finish and I have yet to wear it out since I don't find scarves very comfortable haha.

Gaara (Naruto Plush)

I personally don't watch anime (besides the occasional film here and there) or read manga because it's too time-consuming for me, but many of my high school friends did/do. Naruto was a pretty popular one and one of my friends really liked the character Gaara from it (shown in the picture above). So I made a doll inspired by him for her birthday back in July 2007.

Backpack Bag

Have you ever looked at your old, worn backpack right before you're about to throw it away and think, "Hey I might be able to make a bag with it?"

The First Project

As a 10th grader with absolutely no clue of what guys liked, a handmade doll seemed like a good idea for a gift.

Mini Top Hats

In the previous post, I mentioned that I was really into Japanese music in high school. Well, my interest in Japan wasn't limited to the music. From the food and architecture of Japanese buildings to the nightlife and fashion, it all seemed way different than what I could find in America!

J-Rock Revolution Accessories

In my high school days, I was really into Japanese music and actively followed updates on artists I liked. I usually leaned towards J-pop and Japanese alternative rock groups like 嵐, NEWS, 中ノ森band, ART-SCHOOL and ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION but would occasionally listen to a song or two by visual kei artists.

Mango Cake Card

The entire card is made out of cardstock and the envelope was just a regular one I glued a button on to give it some character :) I'm satisfied with the end result but cutting the smaller pieces was a real pain!

Materials: cardstock, envelope, glue, button, scissors

Frozen Yogurt Plush

Today seems like it'll be a bright day so I decided to post up this old plush. Meet Frozen Yogurt!

Mr. Ramen Plush

Another creation inspired by Japan! Well actually, this was inspired by the ramen shops in Little Tokyo but close enough, right? (at least that's as close to Japan as you can get in LA haha)

Food Plushies

I'm very much in love with food. Some people eat to live but I live to eat! As a result, I've made quite a few food-themed plushies and I shall be blogging about some of these creations in the upcoming posts starting with the mini cakes shown above.

First Real Post

Hi there!

I'm Jonnie and I plan to use this blog to post about my crafty moments in life. I'm a 4th year college student (ahhhhh almost time to enter the real world) who enjoys food, crafting, sewing, Asian pop culture, urban art, vinyl toys, more food, coffee table books, vintage and kitschy things and cheesy pick-up lines (which I often use to creep out my friends <3).
