Winter break started yesterday (woohoo!) and so here I am, trying to update the blog. I finally got a chance to upload pictures from the Holiday Open House my school had two weeks ago. Last year, it was pretty hectic so I didn't get any pictures (first-year teacher stress) but I remembered to take some this time around!

Layouts in the ban.do planner for the month of September. I can't believe there's only 4 more weeks until Winter Break (perks of working in education). This year is coming to a close and fast!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! Before I start feasting, I thought it was also about time I stop being lazy and finally make a blog post about my Halloween costume! Continuing my tradition of dressing up as an inanimate object (usually food) each year, I decided to be a gumball machine. I also remembered to document the process so without further ado, here comes a tutorial!

On a sad post-election day like today, I thought I'd do something that makes me happy: finally updating my blog. I plan on spending this 3-day weekend reviewing my Halloween costume photos so I can finally make a blog post about them. But until then, here is a mini paper goods haul I did at Daiso awhile back.

This past June, I visited Seoul for a short vacation. Of course I had to check out the stationery and craft goods! In addition to their amazing beauty products, Korea has one of the best (and affordable!) selections of stationery goods. The majority of these items were purchased at Daiso, Art Box, HomePlus, Kyobo Bookstore, and E-Mart.

The Costasiella kuroshimae is a sea slug that is also known as a leaf sheep due to it's visual similarities with your typical sheep. It's named after Kuro Island in Japan, where it was first found. It also happens to be a animal that one of my friends really liked so I decided to make a pillow plush of it for her.

Labor Day is coming up so I'm hoping to get some crafting time in over that 3-day weekend. Until then, I suppose I'll be looking through my craft supplies! Some origami paper was passed along to me recently. Let's take a look at the loot!

Today, I'm going to do a haul of my favorite online Asian stationery store! Yozo Craft is a Shanghai-based online store that specializes in Asian stationery goods and craft supplies. The pricing is very fair (
check the bottom of this post for a free shipping code) and is close to prices you would find if you were purchasing the items in Asia. I went to Korea in June (I have a haul post planned for the trip too) and actually found that some of the exact same items were cheaper on Yozo Craft!

I always try to do something a little creative for gift wrapping if I have the time. When I bought some Mod Podge, it was the perfect excuse to recycle a shoe box into a gift box.

Hi, friends. I'm on summer break for a couple of weeks so I thought I'd bring back the blog! This tutorial has been sitting in my draft folder for months. I know...quite sad. Perhaps I can create a bunch of posts and schedule them to be posted since I'm obviously failing at having a steady posting schedule. We will see about that! Now onto the post...
If you have a laminator handy, this is a practical and quick project to do with kids and adults that makes a cute homemade gift.

Spring break is coming to an end and I'm determined to update the blog before the break is over! If you have a laminator, this is a nice seasonal activity that replicates the look of stained glass while being very kid-friendly.

And so another Valentine's Day has come and gone and with that comes my annual cards for friends. As I lay in bed recovering from the flu, I decided it would be a good time to update the ol' craft blog. I was able to make quite a few to mail out and pass out in person. The main theme in materials was washi tape and vellum paper. Love, love, love those two materials right now!

We're one month into the new year and that means Valentine's Day is just around the corner! With Valentine's Day being one of my favorite holidays, it's my planner theme for the whole month of February!

For friends and family who are hard to shop for, gift cards have always been my go-to gift. Since they're flat, I always try to find different ways to make the packaging a little more fun. For this particular gift card, I decided to made a fold-out camp site to hold the card!

Here are some crafting goodies that I've been using these past 2 months. The items were found at various stores and the tapes above were an eBay purchase. You can never get enough of craft supplies, right?

Christmas trees are a great Christmas tradition but they can be a little dangerous when younger kids are around. I made this plush tree for my nephew who was 15 months old (now 16 months!) so he could participate in hanging ornaments and still be safe. It is about 17 inches tall and is made of fleece with felt ornaments to ensure that it's the softest it can be!

Every winter, I always give candy as part of my thank you gifts to co-workers. I usually package them in small clear plastic bags sealed with a twist tie. This past year, I decided to make candy sleighs!

This past Halloween, I decided to be a bag of strawberry shortbread cookies! The whole costume cost a little over $6.00 as I only needed the felt and had the rest of the materials on hand. It was my easiest costume yet and was a pretty big hit at work with the kids and staff :)
